According to Alabama State Troopers, an 18 wheeler crashed early this morning striking the overpass bridge at the Sulphur Springs Exit, exit 239, on I-59 southbound. There is one confirmed fatality and the bridge is shut down at this time. The bridge will remain shut down until the ALDOT can inspect the structural integrity of the bridge. If you are traveling I-59, expect possibly delays. We will update you more, once additional official information is released by the ALEA.
