The Storm Prediction Center in Norman, OK. has increased the threat level across parts of the South today. A Moderate Risk area has been added that covers a large portion of Mississippi, which includes central and northern Mississippi. This Moderate Risk area also includes northwest Alabama and southern portions of Tennessee. Surrounding the Moderate Risk area is an large Enhanced Risk area, followed by a Slight Risk area. There is the threat of Hail, Damaging Winds and Tornadoes. This includes the possibility of STRONG, Long Track Tornadoes across the Severe Weather Outlook Area. The main threat timeline should be this afternoon into the night time hours. Remain weather alert as this could be a dangerous life threatening weather event.
