Two DCSO Investigators complete Crisis Negotiation Course

From the Office of DeKalb County Sheriff Nick Welden:

FORT PAYNE, Ala. — Deputy Chief Investigator Priscilla Padgett and Investigator Paul Bell completed the FBI Basic Crisis Negotiation Course during the week of September 11-15 at Jacksonville State University Training Facility.  Both, Deputy Chief Investigator Padgett and Investigator Bell, assist DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team (SRT) in crisis negotiations; they work closely with team members to de-escalate volatile life and death incidents.

DeKalb County Sheriff Nick Welden said of the incident: “We are lucky to have these two on our team.  It takes a special person to hold things together, be the calm of reason and get the situation under control in the end.  You would need to be able to communicate and understand people from all walks of life and that would not be an easy task, but with this training, I have faith these two would do great in any situation.”

“God Bless!” Concluded Sheriff Welden.
