Threat For Severe Weather Returns To The South Monday and Tuesday

“Enhanced Risk” area (darker orange area) has been added for the threat of Strong Tornadoes across east Texas, Louisiana, and Central & Southern Arkansas for Monday, January 2, 2023. All of Alabama will see the threat for Severe Weather on Tuesday, January 3, 2023.

There will be a region of maximum shear and instability that overlaps further to the southwest. If instability is able to shift further to the Northeast, into Tennessee and Western Mississippi, where shear is high, there may be a need to increase the threat level. We will have to wait and see what The Storm Prediction Center does on this, as we get closer.

Everything will shift Eastward on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, over Southeast Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Western Georgia.

Remain weather alert and these areas could shift and change same as we get closer and the threat levels may change as well.

Remember, several Tornadoes will be possibly on Monday and some may be Strong/violent and long track Tornadoes.
