Tessa Word Shuts Out Sardis, Plainview Takes The Win

Tessa Word threw a shutout to lead Plainview Bears Varsity Softball past Sardis 3-0 on Thursday.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Word struck out 14, while Sardis pitchers sat down two.

A single by Hill in the sixth inning was a positive for Sardis.

Word earned the win for Plainview Bears Varsity Softball. Word allowed one hit and zero runs over seven innings, striking out 14 and walking zero.

Harris took the loss for Sardis. Harris surrendered three runs on four hits over four innings, walking zero.

Kadie Brooks went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Plainview Bears Varsity Softball in hits. Plainview Bears Varsity Softball was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Mia Tidmore made the most plays with 14.

Hill led Sardis with one hit in two at bats.
