Plainview Claims Semi-Final Victory With Huber Score From William’s Hit

Plainview and Geraldine fought a hard battle in the Dekalb County Baseball Tournament Semi-Final game. The game was locked at 0 – 0 at the end of 7 innings.

In the bottom of the 8th inning, Harrison Huber got a walk to first base. Huber then advanced to second base off of a sacrifice bunt by Levi Brown. Then John Mathis Arnold got walked to first base, with Andrew Hall on first, base running for Mathis.

Next batter, Ethan Williams, was up at bat, Harrison Huber was able to steal third base, on a catcher error, placing him in scoring position. Williams hit a line drive right off the third base line, to left field, allowing Huber to score the winning run for the Bears.

In the game, Noah White didn’t allow a single run as Plainview defeated Geraldine 1-0 on Saturday. White allowed just four hits.

The pitching was strong on both sides. White struck out seven, while Geraldine pitchers sat down 16.

A single by Colton Lusher in the fourth inning was a positive for Geraldine.

White was the winning pitcher for Plainview. White went eight innings, allowing zero runs on four hits, striking out seven and walking zero.

Austyn Banks took the loss for Geraldine. Banks surrendered zero runs on one hit, walking zero.

Lusher started the game for Geraldine. The pitcher allowed two hits and one run over seven and a third innings, striking out 16

Ethan Williams went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Plainview in hits.

Lusher led Geraldine with two hits in three at bats.
