On May 9, Steven Charles Jokinen, age 63 of Fort Payne was taken into Fort Payne Police custody on two warrants, one for Sexual Abuse 2nd Degree, the second one for Sodomy 1st degree Chief Randy Bynum reported. The investigation continued into the next day and eight other warrants were served on Jokinen while he was in custody. The additional charges were
- Sodomy 1st degree
- Sexual Abuse of a Child Less than 12 years old
- Sexual Abuse of a Child Less than 12 years old
- Sexual Abuse of a Child Less than 12 years old
- Sexual Abuse of a Child Less than 12 years old
- Sexual Abuse of a Child Less than 12 years old
- Sexual Abuse of a Child Less than 12 years old
- Sexual Abuse of a Child Less than 12 years old
Due to the age of these victims the investigation continues and more charges may be forthcoming, the victims were known to Jokinen. He remains in custody with bond set at $385,000.00
