First Alabama Investigators Academy

News Release from Cherokee County Sheriff Jim Shavers:

Today marked the first day of the Alabama Investigators Academy at Jacksonville State University. This program is the first in Alabama and only the second in The USA. Investigators, upon completion, will be certified criminal investigators through the Alabama Peace Officers Standards & Training Commission.

Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office was honored to have 2 seats, Chief Inv. Monroy and Inv. Green, in this first academy.   Attorney General Steve Marshall kicked off the program by addressing students and many law enforcement leaders from across the State. Locally, Sheriff Shaver, Chief Deputy Summerford and District Attorney O’Dell attended this historic event.   This program is going to help all Criminal Investigators across the State become the best with their skills of investigation.
