The project was put out to bid in the council meeting on November 15, 2021. Due to the proposed estimated total of the project being over the $50,000.00 threshold, in order to be in compliance with the state bid laws that the City must abide by, bids were opened on January 5, 2022.
Gillespie Construction, LLC had the lowest bid of $119,691.00. The bid was awarded to Gillespie Construction, LLC in the council meeting on January 6, 2022. A pre-construction meeting was held on January 19, 2022, with a projected start date of February 14, 2022, if the steel that was ordered comes in as anticipated.
From that date, there would be a duration of 40 working days to complete the project,weather permitting. Once the culvert is completed, there is approximately 2 weeks of road work to be completed, weather permitting.
If the time line, as stated above holds up, the City is looking at opening the road for traffic on or before May 1, 2022.
