Statement from Scottsboro City School System

On the late evening of Thursday, November 16, 2023, Scottsboro City Schools was made aware by the Scottsboro Police Department that a student at Collins Intermediate School made a threat towards another student. While Scottsboro PD continues to investigate, school administration has suspended the student pending further disciplinary action consistent with the Scottsboro City Schools Student Code of Conduct. Scottsboro Police Department will provide greater police presence on all school campuses on Friday, November 17, 2023. The District’s highest priority is ensuring the safety of its students, faculty, and staff. We appreciate the support of the Scottsboro Police Department for helping us keep our schools safe.
