ALEA Says Interstate 59 Southbound is Closed Below Collinsville

UPDATE: AS OF 11:10 AM THE ROAD IS NOW BACK OPEN, ACCORDING TO ALEA

GADSDEN POST— At approximately 9:52 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, an investigation has caused road closure. Interstate 59 southbound lanes near the 205 mile marker will be closed and will be for an undetermined amount of time.  Traffic will be diverted through Collinsville to U.S.11 southbound and back to the Noccalula Falls exit at mile marker 188, where traffic will be diverted back onto I-59 southbound.

Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to monitor the situation and provide updates accordingly.
