Alabama 35 to close at railroad Jan. 13
HUNTSVILLE —The Alabama Department of Transportation advises motorists that a contractor for Norfolk Southern will work on the railroad on Alabama 35/Fifth Street near U.S. 11/Gault Avenue in Fort Payne on Monday, Jan. 13, weather permitting.
Alabama 35 will be closed at the railroad from about 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.
The official detour route, which must be used by heavy truck traffic, is U.S. 11 to Alabama 68 in Collinsville to Alabama 273 at Leesburg to Alabama 35 at Blanche, and vice versa. Signs will be posted to warn motorists about the closure and advise them of the detour.
