A Candidate For Dekalb County Sheriff Has Been Arrested

DeKalb County, Al. – According to Court records, Terry Wayne Wadsworth, a candidate running for Sheriff of DeKalb County, was arrested and charged with impersonating a peace officer and computer tampering. Charges were brought by the State Bureau of Investigation, after an investigation by the Alabama SBI.

Wadsworth was arrested and charged with impersonating a peace officer and computer tampering on December 3, 2021. Wadsworth used the Alabama Criminal Justice Information Center database to get information without permission. The ACJIC database is strictly used for law enforcement to investigate criminal activity and is administered by the FBI.

The Alabama State Bureau of Investigation is handling the case and conducted the investigation and made the arrest.

Wadsworth was released on a $1,000 bond.
