WVSM Reaches Another Historic Milestone Among Alabama Radio Stations

RAINSVILLE, Al. — WVSM Radio has reached another historic milestone, climbing to more than 148,000 Facebook followers and strengthening its position as Alabama’s #1 radio station for Facebook followers.

The Rainsville-based station, heard on 1500 AM and 103.1 FM, continues to stand ahead of several major-market radio stations across the state, including stations in Birmingham and Albertville. WVSM’s growing social media presence reflects the station’s continued connection with listeners, readers and followers across Northeast Alabama and beyond.

Along with surpassing 148,000 Facebook followers, WVSM has also generated a historic 5 million Facebook content views during the 90-day period from March 1 through June 11, 2026. Based on publicly available information and current station data, WVSM also appears to lead Alabama radio stations in Facebook content views.

WVSM would humbly like to thank each and every follower, listener, reader and supporter who helped make this achievement possible.

“We are truly thankful for everyone who follows WVSM, shares our posts, reads our news stories, listens to our station and supports what we do each day,” WVSM said. “This milestone belongs to our community and to the people who continue to trust WVSM for Southern Gospel music, local news, weather, sports, community information and more.”

Licensed to Rainsville and serving Northeast Alabama, WVSM has been part of the community since 1967. The station originally operated as a country music station before transitioning to a Southern Gospel format in 1982. Today, WVSM continues to provide Southern Gospel music along with local news, weather updates, sports coverage and community information through both radio and digital platforms.

The station’s growth on Facebook has placed WVSM ahead of several larger urban radio stations in Alabama. While many major-market stations operate in larger cities with larger population bases, WVSM’s digital reach has continued to grow from its home in DeKalb County.
