Joe’s Truck Stop
At 5:40 am this morning it was reported a transfer truck and trailer had overturned at Joe’s Truck Stop at the corner of 5Th Street NE and Wallace Ave NE Chief Randy Bynum reported. Upon officer’s arrival, a truck and box trailer were on its side. Rescue personnel from Fort Payne Fire arrived and extracted the driver, Devin Lamar Morgan, of Austell, Georgia. Mr. Morgan was alert and talking as he was removed from the vehicle and transported to Gadsden Regional Hospital by Dekalb Ambulance Service. Investigation into the wreck continues, but it appears that the truck might have been traveling to fast at the curve as he attempted to make the right turn at the bottom and his load shifted and overturned. Chief Bynum stated those assisting Fort Payne Police and Fire were Fort Payne Public Works, Dekalb Ambulance Service, EMA, and Fort Payne Sanitation.
