Players Selected for First AHSADCA Basketball Showcase Set for June 22

MONTGOMERY – Jamie Lee, Director of the Alabama High School Athletic Directors & Coaches Association (ASADCA), announced Friday that invitations have been issued to 100 boys’ and  100 girls’ basketball players who will participate in the AHSADCA’s Basketball Showcase planned for June 22.

The Showcase will allow outstanding student-athletes still in high school the opportunity to participate in this special camp that will be open to college coaches to attend. It is a joint project of the AHSAA, NFHS and NCAA.

AHSAA coaches nominated players for this event and the AHSADCA Showcase Selection Committee chose 100 boys and 100 girls to attend.  The invitations were sent out April 16-17 to the student-athlete’s high school coach.

“The coach is responsible for getting the information to the selected players,” Lee said. “I think our selection committees did a great job of selecting these talented players and we are looking forward to a great event.”

The Boys’ Showcase will be held at Hoover High School and the Girls’ Showcase will be hosted at Spain Park High School. The June 22 event will begin at 10 a.m., and end at 6 p.m.

“This showcase will bring our best basketball players together in one setting. “This is a great opportunity for our schools to get exposure for our high school basketball players,” Lee said.
