Henagar man arrested in conjunction with shooting
FORT PAYNE, Ala. – On Thursday, March 23rd, at approximately 6:27 pm, a call came into Henagar Police Department, stating a female subject had been shot at 131 Kelly Drive in Henagar. 

Henagar PD and DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and located the female that had been shot. After arriving, officers and deputies quickly got medical aid to the female and she was transported to Erlanger Medical Center. 

The info obtained by Law Enforcement, was the subject had fled into a nearby wooded area.  A perimeter was quickly established and roadways were blocked off to secure the safety of others and the community. 

The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team was activated and a short time later the subject was located in the wooded area and taken into custody.Joseph Earl Cobb (62 of Henagar) was arrested and charged with Assault 1st and Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling.  

The investigation is ongoing and more charges are expected.
