FORT PAYNE, Al. — The Fort Payne Police Department released its weekly activity report Thursday, detailing a series of thefts, acts of vandalism, and traffic incidents across the city from Monday, July 6 through Thursday, July 9, 2026.Officers responded to several property crimes during the period, including two thefts on Monday alone. A purse and its contents valued at $750 were stolen from a residence on Desoto Parkway Northeast. In a separate case, miscellaneous items worth $31.46 were taken from a location on Gault Avenue South. Property damage incidents were also reported.
On Monday, a 2010 Ford Mustang sustained $1,500 in damage to its quarter panel and bumper at 2001 Glenn Blvd SW. Another vehicle, a 2016 Nissan Altima, had a window damaged on Tuesday at 280 55th Street NE, with the loss estimated at $250. On Wednesday, graffiti discovered on bathroom walls at 401 Gault Ave N was classified as criminal mischief, valued at $100.Arrests during the four-day span included four individuals. On Tuesday, Christian Focsa, 46, of Fort Payne, was arrested on a DUI charge at 1:00 p.m. Early Wednesday morning, Kenneth James Gordon, 68, also of Fort Payne, was taken into custody for Driving Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance at 12:04 a.m.
Thursday saw two more arrests: Michael Levee Hall, 26, of Fort Payne, was charged with Domestic Violence at 7:22 a.m., and a 17-year-old juvenile male from Pisgah was arrested for Minor in Possession of Alcohol at 11:34 p.m.Traffic accidents remained a concern throughout the week. Monday’s crash at the intersection of Glenn Blvd SW and Radio Drive SW left one person injured. Alexander James Wright, 22, of Collinsville, driving a 2026 GMC Sierra, collided with a 2022 Ford Explorer driven by Sady Anna Yvonne Mckee, 26, of Section. Wright was transported to DeKalb Regional Medical Center by ambulance.Six property-damage-only accidents were reported on Tuesday with no injuries.
Wednesday had one additional non-injury crash. On Thursday, a more serious collision occurred at Greenhill Blvd NW and I-59 involving a 2006 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Brian Arthur Thomas, 61, of Fort Payne, and a 2003 International truck driven by Jaquez Jujuan Malone, 30, of Rainbow City. Thomas and a 4-year-old juvenile passenger were both transported to DeKalb Regional Medical Center with injuries.No arrests were reported in connection with the traffic crashes. Police continue to investigate the theft and vandalism cases.
