Dekalb County Sheriff’s Office Remembers Retired Deputy Rene Ramos

FORT PAYNE, Ala. – It is with great sadness we report the passing of retired Deputy, Rene Ramos.  Ramos served the department for over 15 years.  Ramos served in several different positions including Patrol Deputy, SRO Investigations and Chief Jailer.  We will “honor” him as the Hero he was and for the service he left behind, as a teacher, as a mentor and again someone who unselfishly served his community.  Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and all of DCSO as we mourn his loss.

DeKalb County Sheriff Nick Welden said: Deputy Ramos was definitely an outstanding example of a professional Law Enforcement figure.  I have many great memories of Deputy Ramos and so do many others at our office that will live on forever.  Not only did he serve DeKalb County with true professionalism and patriotism, he serves this county in the same manor.  Men like this nowadays are hard to come by.  I’m glad the Lord Blessed me and allowed me to know such a Fine man!

“God Bless!” Concluded Sheriff Welden.
