Arrest Made In “Belt Bandit” Burglary From July 2019

From Assistant Chief Deputy Steve Guthrie, Marshall County Sheriff’s Office

On July 26th a burglary occurred at the Union Grove Food Town on Union Grove Rd. Surveillance cameras depicting a subject covering his face with a belt. Our office then shared a photo taken the night of the burglary and thanks to the tips from your viewers, Lloyd Ivan Goldston IV has been charged for the burglary of this business. Goldston also faces charges in Morgan County for the burglary of a Dollar General that took place later that same night. Images from that burglary showed Goldston wearing the same clothes and ball cap. When the story first broke AL.com dubbed the subject “The Belt Bandit”. We would like to thank the Morgan County Sheriff`s Office and Huntsville Police Violent Crime Unit with assisting in this case.
