According to Sheriff Jeff Shaver, two women were arrested by Cherokee County deputies on Friday, minutes after a burglary occurred on County Road 99 in the Broomtown Community. An observant citizen spotted a suspicious vehicle pulled into a driveway and reported it to the Sheriff’s Office. Deputy John Sentell and Investigator Tony Monroy, who were both in the area, responded to the scene and saw the vehicle. The vehicle was unoccupied and they noticed the home had been burglarized. Deputies located the two occupants of the suspicious vehicle and took them into custody after locating stolen property inside their vehicle.
Sonya L. Price, 36 of Fort Payne, and Saundra S. Goodwin, 61 of Gaylesville, were both transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center on charges of third degree burglary and fourth degree theft of property.
