From the Office of DeKalb County Sheriff Nick Welden:
FORT PAYNE, Ala. — Yesterday at approximately 7 pm, a Fort Payne man was taken into custody after a large amount of stolen firearms were found in his possession. The arrest was part of an ongoing investigation into thefts around the county. The Fort Payne Police Department assisted in locating the subject.
Victor Bernard Lyles (21 of Fort Payne) was charged with four counts of Theft of Property (2nd Degree), Burglary (3rd Degree), and Probation Violation.
Several of the firearms were reported stolen earlier in the day from the Rainsville area. Others were from additional thefts in the area.
This is an ongoing investigation and more charges may be filed upon completion of the investigation.
