AL 40 to close for weekend pipe repair
HUNTSVILLE —The Alabama Department of Transportation advises motorists that a 1.4-milesection of Alabama 40 in Jackson County will be closed this weekend for drainage repairs.
The highway will be closed in both directions between County Road 19 and County Road 418 from about 6 a.m. Saturday, April 27, to about 6 a.m. Monday, April 29.
The detour route for eastbound traffic is Alabama 35 southbound to Alabama 71 northbound. The detour for westbound traffic is Alabama 71 southbound to Alabama 35 northbound. Truck traffic must use this detour.
Message boards and highway advisory radios are in place to alert motorists of the closure. Check algotraffic.com for updates.
