On Wednesday April 10, 2019, members of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division, Patrol Division and Athens Police Department Criminal Investigators executed a search warrant at a residence on County Road 401 in Jackson County. This search was conducted as part of an ongoing joint investigation into a series of armed robberies of Dollar General Stores in Woodville, AL, Huntsville, AL. Decatur, AL. and Athens, AL. As a result of this search, evidence items were located which established the Colton Eugene FIKES was involved in these armed robberies. FIKES, age 28 was arrested and charged with Robbery 1st degree in connection with the March 5th, 2019 Woodville Dollar General Robbery. FIKES was transported to the Jackson County Jail without incident and bond was set at $20,000. Additional charges are anticipated in Huntsville, Decatur and Athens for similar robberies.
