Levi Brown had all the right stuff on Thursday for the Bears, allowing zero runs and besting Crossville by a score of 19-0, in game one of the 2022 Dekalb County Baseball Tournament.
Plainview fired up the offense in the first inning, when an error scored two runs for the Bears.
Plainview scored six runs in the fourth inning. Plainview’s big bats in the inning were led by singles by Sam Crowell, Logan Payne, Braxton Henson, and Andrew Hall, a walk by Harrison Huber, and an error on a ball put in play by Connor Davis.
One bright spot for Crossville was a single by Dakota in the fifth inning.
Brown pitched to victory. Brown went five innings, allowing zero runs on one hit, striking out three and walking zero.
Kolby took the loss for Crossville. undefined allowed seven hits and ten runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out two.
Plainview totaled 13 hits in the game. Brown, Crowell, and Payne each had multiple hits for Plainview. Payne, Crowell, and Brown each managed two hits to lead Plainview. Plainview was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Davis had the most chances in the field with four.
Dakota led Crossville with one hit in two at bats.
