Scattered Storms Expected in North Alabama This Afternoon and Tonight

North Alabama should be on the lookout for scattered thunderstorms this afternoon and into the evening. The atmosphere is warm and humid, and while most storms will be brief, a few could get strong enough to bring heavy rain, gusty winds, and even small hail.

Meteorologists say there’s also a small chance for a quick, isolated tornado, though this is not expected to be widespread. Storms will generally be moving northeast, and activity will pick up this evening as the atmosphere becomes more unstable.

Residents are advised to stay alert, keep an eye on the sky, and have a way to receive weather warnings, especially later tonight when conditions could briefly support stronger storms. Most storms should pass quickly, but it’s a good idea to secure outdoor items and be prepared for gusty winds.
