Dekalb County – A single-vehicle crash today, June 29, has claimed the life of a Georgia man. James Harold Hillis, 61, of Silver Creek, Ga., was killed when the 1999 Mack tractor trailer he was driving ran off the roadway and struck a ditch before overturning and catching fire. Hillis was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash occurred at 3:40 p.m. on Interstate 59 at the 235 mile marker, 15 miles north of Ft. Payne. ALEA Troopers continue to investigate the crash, and nothing further is available.
