Kayron Guffey and the City of Rainsville Honor our Veterans for Memorial Day

The City of Rainsville came together in unity and reverence at the Veterans Memorial in Rainsville City Park. Flags gently stirred in the breeze as they gathered to honor those who gave their lives in service to the United States.

“We pause not just to remember, but to remind ourselves of the cost of freedom,” Guffey said, “These men and women stood in defense of this country. And today, we stand with them.”

Several proud veterans were in attendance:  Cody Dowdy, Clinton Bell, Andy Sims, Randy Sims, Jim Jenkins, Gary Clifton, John T. Moses, Dave Hallmark, James Harp, Fred Bobo, Derek Rosson, Sammy Smith and World War II veteran Loyd Ivey 99 years old.

The placing of the wreath was more than a tradition it was a living testament to sacrifice, service, and a community that never forgets.
