Title: Vehicle Fatality
A call came in at approximately 12:30 am on Sunday January 15th to Fort Payne Police Dispatch that an accident had occurred on I-59 N near Lebanon Road. Francisco Felipe Juan, age 23 of Fort Payne, driving a 2012 Infinitiy G37 struck a cable barrier then struck Sybil L Duncan, age 43 of Etowah, TN, driving a 2022 KIA Rio. Francisco Juan was airlifted to Erlanger Hospital, one passenger Alex Randy Marroquin, age 21 of Fort Payne, was transported to Dekalb Regional by Dekalb Ambulance Service. Another passenger, Gavino Diego Francisco, age 21 of Fort Payne, was transported to Erlanger Hospital by Dekalb Ambulance Service where he later succumbed to his injuries. Sybil Duncan was airlifted to Erlanger Hospital. Juan and Duncan remain in Erlanger Hospital as of today’s date. The accident is currently still under investigation.
