Convicted Felon Arrested on Multiple Firearm and Drug-Related Charges

FORT PAYNE, Ala. – On Tuesday, January 20th, the DeKalb County Drugs and Major Crimes Unit, along with DeKalb County SRT executed a high-risk search warrant at an address in the 800 block of County Road 330 in Ider. The search warrant came about as the result of an ongoing investigation into a convicted violent felon living at that address believed to possess multiple firearms. During the course of the search warrant, Investigators and Narcotics Agents recovered two firearms, methamphetamine, marijuana and steroids from the residence. At the conclusion of the search warrant, Christopher Lance Burks (45 of Ider) was charged with Certain Persons Forbidden to Possess Firearm (felony warrant), Certain Persons Forbidden to Possess Firearm (x2), Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance (x4), Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
