On December 30th, 2019, a body was recovered from Lake Guntersville near the Lake Guntersville Sailing Club. The body was recovered in reference to a missing person investigation reported to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office on December 27, 2019. A Cadaver detection K-9 located the body in about 8 feet of water from the sheriff’s office patrol boat.
Today, the body has been identified as Charles Kenneth Land of Guntersville who was the subject of the missing person report.
This case is still under investigation. At this time, we do not believe any foul play is involved based on preliminary forensic reports.
Agencies involved with the investigation were the Marshall County Coroners Office, Marshall County District Attorney Office, Elite K-9 Detection, and the Marshall County Rescue Squad.
